On 5 June 2026, the final conference of the DEEPLAB project was successfully held in Bratislava, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss the decarbonisation of Slovak industry and its implications for the labour market. A recording of the conference is available.

DEEPLAB Conference: The Future of Slovak Industry and Labour Market Impacts
The conference will present possible scenarios for the development of industry on the path to carbon neutrality and their impact on the labour market by 2050. Prominent keynote speakers will present, and expert panel discussions will take place with representatives of ministries, employer organisations, trade unions, and leading industrial companies operating in Slovakia. A detailed programme will be published in the coming days.

At the final webinar of the DEEPLAB research seminar series, held on 31 March 2026, we presented new findings on the future of employment in Slovakia's automotive industry in the context of decarbonisation.

The DEEPLAB research seminar, organised by CELSI on 29 January 2026 in Bratislava, offered model-based estimates of the impact of energy decarbonisation on employment and a discussion on how to ensure that the green transition creates attractive and high-quality jobs.

CELSI Frontiers Seminar – Presentation of Preliminary Model Results
On 20 June 2025, the DEEPLAB team showcased the first results of the model at the CELSI Frontiers Seminar in Bratislava. The event gathered researchers to provide feedback and discuss implications for decarbonisation and labour market transitions.

CELSI Frontiers Seminar – Presentation of the Model, Selection of Sectors and Scenarios
On 6 December 2024, DEEPLAB researchers Monika Martišková and Jakub Barszcz presented the project at the CELSI Frontiers Seminar in Bratislava, Slovakia. The presentation introduced the model design, discussed sectors selection, and outlined the proposed scenarios for further analysis.

Workshop with Trade Unions in Ružomberok – Health and Safety in Green Jobs
In June 2025 in Ružomberok, Slovakia, Monika Martišková discussed occupational health and safety risks related to green jobs with trade unions. In the lecture she discussed how emerging green sectors — such as waste management and renewable energy (solar and wind) — are expected to see significant job growth if the goals of the green transition are to be met.

Discussion on Green Jobs with Slovak Stakeholders (SAPI & KOZ SR)
In April 2025, Monika Martišková and Jakub Barszcz engaged with the Slovak Association of Photovoltaic Industry and Renewable Energy (SAPI) and the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic (KOZ SR). The meeting focused on opportunities and challenges of green jobs in Slovakia's energy transition and discovered possible cooperation in the future.

SEAM 2025 Conference – Presentation in Nitra
In September 2025, DEEPLAB researcher Jakub Barszcz presented the project at the SEAM 2025 Conference in Nitra, Slovakia, engaging with academics and policymakers on the challenges of sustainable economic and labour market transformation.

MADME 2025 Conference – Presentation in Venice
In May 2025, DEEPLAB researchers Monika Martišková and Jakub Barszcz presented the project and its modelling framework at the MADME Conference in Venice, Italy. The event brought together researchers and practitioners working on macroeconomic dynamics, modelling, and environmental policy.

Workshop on Input-Output Research – Presentation in Groningen
In April 2025, DEEPLAB researcher Jakub Barszcz presented the project and its model at a workshop in Groningen, the Netherlands, attended by scientists and practitioners in input-output research. The event provided a platform to share methodologies and exchange experiences on modelling economic transitions.
